NA 118 Rolling Bearings and Plain Bearings Standards Committee

The "Rolling Bearings and Plain Bearings Standards Committee" has emerged from the amalgamation of the Plain Bearings Standards Committee", which was founded in 1917, with the Rolling Bearings Standards Committee, also founded in 1917. Technical Committee 1 deals with the standardization of rolling bearings and its accessories of all kinds, spherical plain bearings and rod ends as well as linear motion rolling bearings. Standardization work at national level is carried out in the respective DIN committees and at international level in ISO/TC 4 "Rolling bearings". Standardization work in the field of rolling bearings in particular deals with the subject areas listed below: - vocabulary; - product features; - dimensions and tolerances; - fittings; - test methods; - load ratings, revolution per minute and life; - methods of design. Technical Committee 2 deals with the standardization of thin-walled and thick-walled plain bearings. Standardization work at national level is carried out in the respective DIN committees and at international level in ISO/TC 123 "Plain bearings". Standardization work in the field of rolling bearings in particular deals with the subject areas listed below: - vocabulary; - dimensions and tolerances; - classifications of materials and lubricants; - methods of design and calculation of plain bearings; - Quality analysis and assurance.
